Job title: Full Stack Developer Python / React

Location: Suitland, Maryland

Work Arrangement: Hybrid 2 3 days onsite per week

Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to develop and support secure, cloud-native applications in a classified environment.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience developing both Python backend services and production-quality React/Next.js frontend applications . This is not a backend-only position.

The developer will work across the full application stack, from database design and backend APIs to frontend applications, authentication, cloud deployment, and CI/CD.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop secure, cloud-native full-stack applications.
• Build and maintain Python backend services using Django and/or FastAPI.
• Develop production-quality user interfaces using React, Next.js, or equivalent frontend frameworks .
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas and optimize queries.
• Manage database migrations and data loading.
• Develop dashboards and custom MVP/pilot solutions.
• Support existing applications and develop new platform capabilities.
• Perform legacy data migration and integration.
• Integrate authentication and authorization services.
• Deploy and troubleshoot applications across AWS classified partitions and regions .
• Work with AWS services including EKS, Aurora, S3, IAM, VPC, and KMS.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules for infrastructure deployment.
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines .
• Follow secure Git workflows and software development practices.
• Develop applications for STIG-hardened and FIPS-validated environments .
• Work with security and DevSecOps teams to resolve deployment and application issues.
• Use modern development practices and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Python development experience using Django and/or FastAPI .
• Experience with modern Python, including async/ASGI and Python 3.13+ .
• Strong production-level frontend development experience using:
  • React
  • Next.js
  • or equivalent modern frontend frameworks
• Must have experience developing complete full-stack applications , not just backend services.
• Strong RESTful API development experience.
• Experience with Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns.
• Experience with Pydantic-based validation .
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including:
  • Schema design
  • Query optimization
  • Migrations
  • Data loading
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting applications in AWS environments .
• Familiarity with:
  • EKS
  • Aurora
  • S3
  • IAM
  • VPC
  • KMS
• Experience developing and maintaining Terraform modules .
• Experience integrating authentication using technologies such as:
  • Keycloak
  • OIDC
  • SAML
  • CAC/PIV
• Understanding of secure token handling.
• Experience developing software for STIG-hardened and FIPS-validated environments .
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and Git workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
