About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) for a 13-week contract position in Great Falls, Montana. This role supports a 10-bed ICU caring for high-acuity cardiovascular, critical care, medical, and surgical patients.
Candidates must have recent open-heart recovery experience and be prepared to independently care for immediate postoperative open-heart patients from the beginning of the assignment. The RN will manage patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring, invasive lines, chest tubes, multiple IV infusions, and ventilatory support.
ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive critical care nursing for cardiovascular, postoperative open-heart, medical, and surgical patients.
Manage immediate postoperative open-heart patients and patients receiving PCI, pacemaker, revascularization, thoracotomy, and related cardiovascular care.
Monitor and manage A-lines, invasive and central lines, chest tubes, multiple IV infusions, telemetry, and invasive or noninvasive ventilatory support.
Assess patients for clinical deterioration, implement appropriate nursing interventions, and provide care from admission through discharge planning.
Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals while serving as a clinical resource and assisting with staff precepting as needed.
Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Required.
Active Montana Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
Minimum 2 Years of Nursing Experience With Recent Critical Care Experience Required.
Recent Open-Heart Recovery Experience, Including Immediate Postoperative Open-Heart Patient Care, Required.
Current BLS,BCLS, ACLS, PALS Certifications Required.
The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide skilled cardiovascular and critical care nursing to high-acuity patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention.
